Spring Shortag

flowers in red, yellow, and purple

This week’s photo blog challenge was to incorporate a global event. According to a New York Time’s article I recently read, there is a flower shortage this year due to factors like supply change shortage and labor shortages (see the link below). Because of this, flower arrangements for weddings and major events are harder and more expensive to find. I found these flowers while out on a walk, and after reading this article, I am honestly grateful that I get to see and enjoy so much colorful flora this spring. I am a lover of flowers, and I have always thought giving/receiving flowers is such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. As climate change and economic struggles continue to place shortages on flowers and other things that we as people have come to appreciate, I hope to grow my own flowers so that others can enjoy them on their neighborhood walks.
