In Digital Media, we created Multi Layer Art Projects for the digital media unit! Stepping out of My Shell is a piece describing my introverted nature and my desire to become more extroverted in the next part of my life: university. I also was very inspired by the idea of the light box and thought that if I added blue or white LEDs and music, I could make a really interesting ocean scene. Combining both the metaphorical nature of the girl in the shell as well as the LEDs, I thought this would be the perfect project for me. I also thought that if this goes well enough, I could ultimately make this a dorm decoration in my future college dorm, as a reminder to myself of my time at Freestyle and the promise I made to make friends, go out, and enjoy my college years.
Overall, I enjoyed this process. After Effects was definitely challenging and as someone who has found themself to be not necessarily inclined to drawing, it wasn't my favorite unit for sure. However, I did appreciate the value of this unit and I appreciate all that we learned. I thought it was cool how we were able to use multiple adobe platforms to create a step by step art project, and I would have never thought to make something like this on my own.
