This week’s prompt asked us to take a picture of something that represents us, without showing our face. I chose to take a picture of my music box, which I’ve had since I was very small and is where I keep my most prized possessions- trinkets that may not be valuable but have plenty of sentimental value to me. Some of the trinkets include a hair clip from my grandmother, old toys, and jewelry that friends gave me before they moved away. At the time I got the box, I wanted to be a ballerina when I grew up. This box and the little dancer who spins around when I twist the gear have both been worn down and very well loved. Every time time I see them, it reminds me that my aspirations to make art have been with me since the very beginning of my life, and it encourages me to keep going.
