World Building Surreal Composition
Using Photoshop, I created this surreal piece using techniques of blend modes, quick start selections, adjustment layers with curves, and even some generative AI. Starting in English, my group created a world and this piece represents the relationship between the dead and the city it haunts. By using a combination of city lights and tombstones, I juxtaposed the differing concepts of a lively city with the dead marked stones. My WorldBuilding Research entailed a mafia group raising the dead to control the city which is represented through giant tombstones with window lights from skyscrapers within them in my piece. This project was a great structure to experiment with the knowledge I knew before and the new info gained from learning. Creating this piece with the surreal concept gave me a lot of freedom to do interesting and unconventional compositions that I would not normally complete.
