Product Label
In this project we created an original product label for a fake company of our choosing and created a sunscreen company called Sandstone. I drew inspiration from the Sun Bum company with their far more interesting designs and commercial approach to advertising with a mascot. I went a similar route with a minimalistic design of a ghost crab as my mascot and choosing complementary colors purple and light yellow to give a strong contrast. I then played around with fonts to create my logo and created a back label with all ingredients and information that would be legally obligated to add onto my product. Then I added an actual sandstone texture onto the back of the design and put it onto a mockup file using PlaceIt to create my final product photo.
After choosing the product, I created a moodboard with inspiration and a general sense of what I wanted my logo and label design to emulate.

Movie Poster
My world building story is a mob-land noir Chicago-like setting with the story centered around the reluctant heir to a mafia family that has supernatural powers that allow them to see the spirits that they killed.
I used Adobe Photoshop to sketch out my ideas and then my final work I completed in Illustrator including all of the logos and text that are at the bottom of the poster. I used Adobe InDesign to create the QR code for my website. When creating the poster, for the city in the background, I drew inspiration from Batman Mask of the Phantasm as it had a great mood to the art and then I wanted to represent both the ghostly aspect to my world, and the noir piece by having a dynamic position with a ghost encircling a mobster.

Reflection
I really appreciated these projects as they were both multi assignment based and I had to continue to work on something from either another class or a previous assignment. Such as the product design, I was able to come up with an entire brand and then be able to put it on multiple mockups and then finally a magazine ad was very rewarding. Same with the movie poster only more fulfilling because I had spent months already working on creating an entire world-building story and finally being able to create media off of it was a lot of fun.
