About me

which I attended in July of 2023 with my friend!
Hello, welcome to my website! My name is Giselle Arellano Guerrero and I am a current Junior attending Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. I’m fluent in both Spanish and English, as well as a current AVID 2026 student. During school I am a part of Poetry Club with the role Public Relations. I enjoy annotating song lyrics of my favorite artists’, reading, and painting during my free time. I also really like attending concerts with my friends and watching movies.
A core value in my life is creativity because it allows me to have full freedom and control on whatever I choose to create. I also value unity and respect – which ties in with creativity – because whenever I get the opportunity to work with someone on a project I believe the environment should be comfortable and everyone should be held on the same pedestal.
Outside of school I enjoy reading! One of my favorite books is a series named “Throne of Glass” written by Author Sarah J. Maas. I enjoy reading any genre, but I mostly stick to Fantasy! Another hobby I enjoy is writing – whether they’re short stories, lyric snippets, or poems. Since I was a child I’d always enjoyed words and the subject English has always been my strongest. I love Fall and Winter because I get to see family again during the holidays and everything feels very cozy.
Some expectations I have for myself as a Freestyle student is to learn to be more independent. As I get older, I know things will get tougher, and I believe Freestyle will introduce me to certain challenges to get me prepared for the future. I also expect to learn more useful tools regarding media – like working with programs in Adobe, using new technology etc – I wouldn’t normally learn in my high school.
As a Freestyle student, I value collaboration and responsibility. In a school with a significantly smaller community, I know there will be more opportunities to meet new people, and I intend to use that to my advantage in my time here. Already in my classes I’ve met so many new friends and learned different things about myself while in a serious work setting. As a Freestyle student I understand the privilege I have for the proximity of so many different types of equipment and cannot wait to learn as much as I can.
