I wouldn’t be who I am without Freestyle. It has taught me how to be an independent worker, how to be a creative thinker, and how to put my voice into the world in order to make it a better place. I’ve learned how to build and how to embrace community, and also how important it is in order to create successfully. Freestyle taught me how to have fun amongst all the hard work. I hope to remain connected to my teachers, and I will forever carry the experience I had at Freestyle in my heart.

Zenith Celebration Video
I chose to include my celebration video on my showcase page because I really think it shows how much I have grown as a creator throughout Freestyle. I am able to analyze and follow my work process as well as document what failures I endured and why as well as which successes I celebrated and what lead up to them. One can’t step into the film world and be able to talk about, understand , observe the things I was finally able to achieve after finishing my Zenith and ending my career at Freestyle.
With this project, I wasn’t only able to reflect on my stylistic choices as a digital creator, but I was also very much able to express myself through my art, without using words. It was challenging to answer the question “who am I?” through art, but once I got rolling I felt I confidently knew what I was doing. I believe that Freestyle has not only helped me be able to technically carry out digital-art tasks, but to also think creatively and critically about the messages I am putting out into the world through art.
