Zenith

The big one. The final project.

If there’s one thing I learned at Freestyle, it’s that passion projects take precedence over projects that you think other people would like. My journey has lead me to the quote: “In a world where you can be anything, be yourself”

I chose to make a silly mockumentary about Senior Assassins, a game where high school seniors compete by eliminating each other with water guns to win a cash prize.

To start, I used my screenwriting skills from film to start writing a script in StudioBinder.

Then, I filmed myself in my backyard for a mock-interview. I invited some friends over to pretend to be dead in my backyard, asked a friend to hide in his trash can, convinced 2 of my friends to dress up in suits and “protect” me as I got my mail, then I filmed my friend Stephen doing a quick introduction explaining what senior assassins was, and then filmed with Katie and Annie to provide visuals for the explanation.

Then I compiled it all together. It took many different variations trying to get everything just right. I added music, sound effects, color correction, and a credits scene. Funnily enough, my friend Michael (right bodyguard) actually came up with the ending to my Zenith project on the spot. I was very appreciative because it was a funny, easy, convenient, and sensical ending.

After way too many hours spent in front of my computer in a dark room, I completed my Zenith Project! Please enjoy.
