Welcome to my website! My name is Jerry Liang and I was a student at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and I grew up with my younger brother Jason, my mom and my dad! I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, family, as well as creating art using both physical and digital media. I am ready to take on the next chapter of my life through studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Case Western Reserve University (very likely). I hope to make cool machines but also teach my peers art and Adobe stuff just like in Freestyle, and who knows maybe I could be the future design or digital media instructor at Freestyle.
My core values in life are having compassion, perseverance, courage, and just well-being in general. These values are super important to me because it allows me to make new friends and become a person that anyone can reach out to, and also allows me to achieve something that I have never done before.
Because I value well-being, something I like to do outside of school is spending time with my friends and family in order to relax and have some fun! In addition to that, I enjoy creating graphic designs and videos on Adobe apps, play Minecraft with my brother, and hang out with friends.
Creating art was my number one motivator for joining Freestyle Academy. I really wanted to improve with my skills in working with advanced technology, as I know I will come out of Freestyle being an expert at everything: making films, websites, designs and so much more. After two years of learning advanced techniques at Freestyle Academy and become the “John Freestyle,” I gained the capability to create lots of flyers, PSAs, funny videos, websites and build my own portfolio.
At Freestyle, I value the opportunity to work professionally and build skills I would use in the future. I made the most of this opportunity where I got to interact with staff who offer professional feedback, and spend time in classrooms that are rich in resources. Freestyle was where I really found home in my school community, and it felt like the past two years I built such close connections with my classmates and teachers, and every project felt like we could make something so cool that could be continued on even after Freestyle. Freestyle was where I learned so many technological skills, I entered Freestyle not knowing how to navigate an advanced computer like a Mac, but now leaving Freestyle, I not only know how to use a Mac, but I am comfortable using so many Adobe apps, where I can make such great designs and videos after I leave Freestyle, such as creating productions for clubs and organizations I join in college and personal projects that I can take with me.

Check out my Personal Stationery!
The personal stationery project is where I got the chance to make my own business card, letterhead, and resume design that I can potentially use in the real world when I want to collaborate with someone on a big project or apply for a job. Note that for display purposes, my contact info here is fake so I don’t disclose my personal information, and my resume is themed around skills I got in Freestyle, not a detailed activities list of my entire life.
