Rule of Thirds

[Use the rule of thirds to show motion in your picture.]

I don’t normally use the rule of thirds in my pictures, since I mainly do close-up portraits. This was a fun way to be introduced to the concept of landscape photography, and the use of movement. I normally focus much more on the colours of an image, so it was a big change to look composition instead. I’m not happy with the lighting (being overexposed), but I like the warm orange and the teal contrasting each other.

The photo was taken at Shoreline Park– you can see the nearby hangar in the background, as well as some aeroplanes!
