My Culture

A photo I took of some mooncakes my mom bought a few days ago.

This is a photo that I feel represents my culture. Pictured are some mooncakes my family brought home for the Mid Autumn Festival. Both my parents are from China, and though we are away from my grandparents and the rest of my extended family, we’re still able to celebrate here in the US despite missing them dearly. We also have a tendency in our family to cut up the mooncakes into bitesized pieces so that we are able to savor the flavor and the tradition as much as possible.
