Symmetry Portrait

For this week’s prompt, I was inspired to do a symmetry based makeup look and photograph myself. I used complementary colors, namely purple and yellow eyeshadow, to highlight my face, and I created an opposite reflection of the colors on the other side of my face to create symmetry. In taking the photo, I precariously balanced my camera atop a stack of books on my desk, set a ten second timer, and struck a pose. I positioned both my hands on either side of my face as an extra way to show symmetry and create balance in my composition. In photo editing, I increased the saturation in order to add an extra pop of color, as well as cropping the image slightly.
