This is my portfolio for Freestyle. It is the combination of all of what I think is my best work from Freestyle, from each of my core Freestyle classes that you can see below. I chose these projects because I thought they were my best work, and because I had the most emotional attachment to them.
Design
I thought my documentary book was from my point of view my best project in Design, because it’s been consistently the one I feel the most proud of. Even though all Freestyle projects are connected to all three of my Freestyle classes, it’s the Design aspect of my book that I like the best. The part I’m most proud of is the unique design I created in the Design class, and that is why I think this book is truly amazing. I am extremely happy with it.

In Design we were asked to turn the English paper we had made into a book where we had to design each page with graphic elements, photos and also text. The first thing that I did was take all the photos for it, and make all of the graphic elements. They were very medical themed because that’s what my essay is about. After I did that, I had to arrange it all in InDesign. All of these things, including taking photos and making graphic elements, interviewing people, and laying out the book took about 3 months. After that time I had a 34 page book with my paper in it. After 3 months of work and a significant amount of effort we had the book physically printed. It looked very nice with my designs in it.

English
For English, I chose the World building treatment, which is a story written collaboratively by a group I was part of, together with artworks and digital media creations. Despite it not being a project that was written exclusively by me, I’m the most proud of it in that class because it’s really the collaborative story I wanted to tell with my group. Also, I feel that I significantly influenced the content.
The second part of the world building project is the treatment we wrote out our story in both bullet points and a super detailed long form way also include the character details and all the other things you would need to get a hang of the story. Mr. Greco said it should be up to seven pages ours doubled that
Digital Media
For digital media I chose the multi-layer project because it was a large project that culminated in something physical. I think I did a great job for this, and it’s one of the very few pieces of physical art we have done in digital media. The backlighting together with the multiple layers really give it depth, and make the art come alive. In my opinion it is the best and the most substantial piece of physical art that I made.
For our next project in digital media we did our most Worldbuilding connected project. We were tasked with making either a paper light box, a piece of stacked wood art or a piece of ring art based on our World building project. All of them were cut out with Mr Flo’s laser machine. I chose to do the I chose to do the paper light box Which i designed in Illustrator because a time portal So I designed my light box to giveThe deepening portal effect by having each layer be a strip of portal and go back in spaceI also added a silhouette of our two main characters Standing in front of it about to go through i also added text at the top for visual interest. Overall this project was very fun and one the very few physical art projects we do at Freestyle

You can see here an image of my process in Illustrator And the final image from the multi-layer project
Vidoes
For the last part of the multi-layer project we made 2 videos you can see below one of them is a timelapse of assembling laser cutting and assembling the physical lightbox the second one shows off the layers of the lightbox in a 3D animated and camera panning form that is quite interesting
For the multi-layer art project I created a multitude of things. The main part of the project is creating a layered Cardstock lightbox used to show the project in a physical form. The first step was to use Illustrator to design it based on my worldbuilding Project. My Goal was to create a portal with an interesting tunnel effect to be cool and have a 3-D effect. I made each layer of the light box into a smaller hole that was portal shaped, to make it look like the portal was stretching back in space. After completing the layers of the portal, I decided to add a silhouette of the two people from our story going through the portal. This would enhance the aesthetic of the portal and add more depth to the overall piece. I also added text above the portal as a fun extra design touch. After I was done, Mr. Florendo laser cut it out with his machine and once we were done laser cutting the pieces out I assembled them into a box made out of laser cut wood that I had previously assembled also I spray painted the outside of the box Silver after that, I started assembling the layers with Elmers glue and foam separators to emphasize the 3-D effect and then once I glued them all in we added LED strips to the back that I colored purple and blue, After it was done I made a time lapse video of the assembly, which I had been filming the whole time. To get the video to be under the required two minutes I had to speed up the footage I had taken over 5000 percent of its regular speed. Once the video was done. I did the final part of this project which was making a 3-D render of the layers in after effects where I used key frame animation to pan the camera around truly emphasizing the 3-D effect this project is overall, I thought this project was extremely fun and a great expansion of my skills in many ways
Personal Stationery
We were asked to make a set of Personal Stationery for our future. It included a resume, a letterhead and a business card. I decided to make them with two themes, one similar to my product design project and the other like my mandala in color scheme. I also decided to put a pickle on my card because I have defined myself as the pickle man
