Humor

Introduction

During the humor unit, I partnered with my friend Kayla to create a short film. We decided to focus on the heavy workload at Freestyle, highlighting the long hours we have recently spent working late into the night in the Digital Media and Film room. We were challenged to produce something exemplifying different humor techniques. We researched different humorists, techniques, and types of media we could produce to create a short, unique, and funny way to end off our time here at Freestyle. We created the humor project because “humor” is such an immense part of our society today; there are many techniques and strategies to pulling it off. Freestyle wanted us to use our creativity to create a project full of laughter and techniques we learned in English.

I valued this project because recently my friends and I have stayed in the classrooms as late as 2 AM working on projects, which is definitely a memory that none of us will forget. Our humor project took clips from the time compiled together, which I value because it will leave me remembering what an interesting time this was in our lives.

Humor Proposal

Below is a linked PDF to my humorist analysis, reflection, and proposal. I researched two different humorists but ended up going an entirely different route for our finished product, which can be read in the documents.

Below are some of the humorists that I researched during this project.

Script of Humor Project

We used our parody from junior year, which was a version of Goosebumps by Travis Scott we wrote. We decided to take our audio of singing that and make a compilation of videos to accompany the words about having an immense amount of work to do. We created a list of shots we wanted to capture, as well as our most recent influences.

Reflection

Overall, I enjoyed this project! It was a great way to end off the year; I feel like I ended how I started by working with my friend Kayla, and it was fun to see what everyone came up with.
