About Me

Welcome to my website! My name is Mia Florendo and I graduated from Mountain View High School (Class of ’24) as well as attended Freestyle Academy (2022-2024) with Film Production as my elective.
I am half Japanese & half Filipino born and raised in the Bay Area, and have lived in Hiroshima, Japan for 3 years. I love to dance, get food and hang out with friends and family, as well as watch movies on my nights in.
When attending Freestyle Academy, I had learned a wide range of techniques, from website design, to small & big film productions, as well as new writing techniques to improve my narrative development skills. Each production is unique to me and who I am, and I have enjoyed all the production processes, as well as working with my peers to showcase the best collaborative visual art media.
In the fall, I will be majoring in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Applied and Computational Mathematics at San Jose State University!!
Freestyle has been such an unforgettable experience for me. Personally, I’ve waited my entire life to be part of this program, and now that my time here as a Freestyle student has ended, I just wanted to thank everyone who has given me so much love and support throughout the years. I wouldn’t have been able to explore my creative passion for visual media without my peers, so I wanted to thank them as well for a wonderful past 2 years together. I’m wishing Freestyle the best for their future, and hope to visit, and see what incredible artworks the students are continuing to produce.
If I could give anyone advice, I would say to live in the moment. As basic as it may sound, when you’re having fun, things tend to go by really fast. For me, this was Freestyle. I still wish I had more time to spend with people but I know that we’ll keep in touch, and hopefully meet up in the future sometime.
