This is a photo of a Japanese “Omamori,” or good luck charm. They are meant to provide protection and good fortune. Omamoris can be made for different purposes. The one in this photo is meant for business success. You can never open an Omamori, because then it will (supposedly) lose its power. Many people replace them annually by returning them to a shrine or temple.
