Stranger

A stranger does not have to be a human stranger. I saw this sheep at Deer Hollow Farm, and observed her as she chewed grass and went about her business. I believe that animals are equally as complex as humans are. They have thoughts and feelings. They even have a sense of responsibility to care for their families. This sheep is a stranger to me. It would be impossible for me to fully understand her experience, because I have never lived her life. As she looks up at the setting sun, one can’t help but wonder what she thinks of the world, from her limited viewpoint. Is she content, living on the farm? Does she worry for her future, for the futures of her children? How much of the world has she seen? How much will she know?
