I took this photo when I was out for a camping trip at Pinnacles National Park. One of the things that stood out the most to my family and I was how dry the landscape was: everything was a strange grey-ish yellow. But as we walked one day on a trail through a field, I became enthralled with the feeling of power and movement of the grass swaying in the wind. It seemed incredible to me how the clumps of thin grass became a shimmering wave when hit by the light of the mid-afternoon hour. The color palette is mostly yellow, red, and dark brown, adding to this glowing, majestic feeling. The image makes me think of community, strength, and power, how a slight change in lighting can reveal a vigorous landscape.
