Self-Portrait

Self-Portrait

For this photo blog challenge we had to take a self portrait of ourselves doing a certain pose that shows what other people think of us. Its similar to the first ever photo blog we did which was during our junior year at Freestyle. The difference between the first one that we did and this photo blog challenge is that for the first one we were not allowed to show our faces at all but for this one we can…

Modern Convenience

Modern Convenience

The challenge for this photo blog is to take a photo of a modern convenience that we can’t live without. I chose to do a GPS because its something that people use in order to get to places that they haven’t been to before or go somewhere that is super far from where you live. If GPS was never created for our devices and our cars or if we didn’t have paper maps then it would be harder to get…

Deadly Sins

Deadly Sins

This photo blog challenge is based on the one of the seven deadly sins. I chose to capture greed because kids, teens, and sometimes adults can be greedy and buy a lot of things that they don’t really need so eventually it gets left buried underneath a bunch of other stuff. I took a photo of my computers with a few tabs opened showing some stuff that I really want but I can’t really get them because they’re ether to…

Film Noir

Film Noir

One of the photo blog challenges for this month is about film noir. For this photo blog challenge we had to try and take a photo of something or someone and make it look like it was taken from a old movie. To take this photo I went out at night with my dad to downtown Mountain View. We went straight to city hall and took some photos of the building next to it. They didn’t really turn out the…

Silhouettes

Silhouettes

For this photo blog challenge I had to try and tell a story though a silhouette. To take this photo I had to wait until it was getting close to sunset. Then me and my dad went out with my camera to go to Springer elementary school to see if we could get some silhouette photos there. While my dad was driving us there we saw some palm trees in the neighborhood so I thought I could take a photo…

Friends

Friends

This is one of my old friends from when I used to go to a private school called St. Joseph. In this photo you can see her working on one of her current crochet projects. Back when we both went to school together at St. Joseph I remember that she liked to crochet things like clothing items or small gifts for other people. One time on valentines day she crochet a heart on a paperclip as gift for everyone in…

Culture

Culture

For this photo I was challenged to take a photo of something that shows my culture. Since i’m from a Chinese background I thought about taking a photo of things bunched up together that represented the Chinese culture but I wasn’t sure how to do that so I just scrapped that idea. After thinking about it for a while I came up with a new idea which was to have one person hold a red envelope and make it look…

Flowers

Flowers

In this photo blog, we had to take a photo of flowers. To take this photo I went outside onto my front lawn and looked at some of the flower bushes. I used the 75-300mm lens to try and zoom into the flowers then in Adobe Photoshop I put a Screen Blend mode on top of it to make the background a little brighter. Using the brush tool in Photoshop I erased the Screen Blend mode on the flowers.

Aging

Aging

For this photo blog, we were challenged to take photo of something that shows Aging. To take this photo I went in my backyard and tried to find some plants that were starting to look a little bit shriveled or something that looks like its starting to die. I found some purple flowers in a large blue pot that were slowly starting to die and looked a little shriveled so I took a photo of those. While I was editing…
