“Use your mood to create art.”
For a long time, I’ve been feeling stuck. While in recent times, I’ve made steps to further myself towards my goals and aspirations, but I’ve faced many obstacles along the way. Many of them are personal, whether that be internal barriers or external barriers, but nevertheless, it’s quite disheartening to have my goals feel just out of reach.

When taking out the trash this morning, I noticed several parking barriers sitting on the side of the cul-de-sac my family and I live next to, and decided that they’d be a good symbol for my mood. They’re imposing, they’re limiting, they prevent your access to the places you might want to reach. The sun was at a perfect angle to give this barrier a nice long shadow as well, further adding to its imposing stature.

To me in two years, when I’m off to college and experiencing adult life for the first time, I wonder what kind of barriers you’re facing now. I hope you can find ways to overcome them, and I hope you’re surrounded by people who can support you while you climb over them.
