When I was little, my family and I would stay in town for the holidays. One of our favorite traditions was driving to Palo Alto and seeing neighborhoods and homes that had tons of Christmas lights and decorations. When I was older, we started traveling up to Northern California for Christmas to see extended family, and we didn’t get the chance to see the overly decorated homes for a long time. Nothing changed this past Christmas, but when we came back home, I saw Nativity lights outside of a local church, which not only reminded me of our old family tradition when I was little, but also reminded me of the reason for the season.
