In English, we studied humor types and how humor can be delivered. We started this by reading the book Slaughterhouse 5, which plays with satire, addressing issues like war and PTSD. Once we learned the many humor types (anecdote, situational, black, blue, etc. ) we were instructed to look at humorists that interested us and come up with our own comedic work.
Proposal
Below is my humor analysis in which I looked into Between Two Ferns by Zach Galifianakis and Saturday Night Live. I learned about how they executed their work, what forms of humor they use, and how I could apply it to my work.
I then looked at what type of project I wanted to do and planned how I could emulate the different skills of the two humorists I looked at.
Script
Nicole Leihe and I decided to make fun of the Met Gala and the celebrities within the Met Gala as it had just happened for 2023 when we were discussing the project. We felt it was funny the outfits that the celebrities wore and the idea of the Met Gala itself as an exclusive fashion show with a theme filled with interviews and after parties.
Final Product
We then planned our props and who was playing who. After this it was time to film! For our final product we put together this video:
