<Interpret it how you want>

For this assignment, the first thought I had was scultptures- I think the idea of the human form cast in stone is interesting becuase we can view the physicality of that person and through the scene, understand the artist intention-but we never get to hear them or of course interact with them in life, leaving only an anonymous form to represent them.

Both these images are from the Louvre Scultpure Gardens, the Cour Puget and Cour Marly rooms, on two seperate visits to the museum. The atmosphere of the courtyard adds to the anonymous qualities of these images becuase on both occassions, the rooms were entirly empty. In the second image, we had arrived when the gallery first opened, having the entire space soley to ourselves for the first hour of opening hours. Having these galleries fully to myself left me not only with these photos but the expierence of seeing these mastercraft forms in a settting that has so much significance, supporting the art, artist and viewer.
