Monterey Bay Aquarium

Inspired by the 1950s brutalist cement architecture of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, this shoot was never originally planned. On assignment for an AP art inspiration hunt, the subject (Whitney Ross) and I were struck by inspiration through the hard cement geometry of the interior with the raw, salty aquatic makeup of the surrounding Monterey Bay.
