Composition: Facial Symmetry

1/125 f5.6 ISO 6400

This is a picture of my cat Georgia. She is a really pretty cat and is very photogenic (except when she is wreaking havoc on our furniture). After I took this photo I used Photoshop to split the photo in two and then reflect one side onto the other. The picture on the right turned out well but the picture on the left was not as good. This is because the original photo has a shadow on one side of Georgia’s face and one side of Georgia’s face is closer to the camera. It was cool to experiment with symmetry because the Photoshop pictures could probably pass as their own photos.
