This week we were challenged to find inspiration in the many elements that make up our world such as Earth, Fire, Wind, Rain, and Spirit. And, of course, I chose fire because I find it really beautiful and that it symbolizes many important things. To me, fire is an important symbol of my family since we have had a fire pit for many years and I remember having a lot of good talks outside with the glow of the fire in the background. For the composition of this shot, I was inspired by Wes Anderson because, recently, I’ve been watching a lot of analyses about his films and one technique he uses frequently is centering his subjects, so I decided to center this controlled fire from my gas stove in this photo.
