Podcast

Introduction

We had a Podcast Unit because it’s a great opportunity to communicate something you’re passionate about for an audience that shares the same interests as you. Our goals were to find a topic that we’re passionate about and find a way to express our interests to a general audience in a creative way. We were also encouraged to take our editing skills that we learned in Digital Media a step further by adding sound effects or music to enhance our podcast.

About this Podcast

In today’s episode, we have a special guest, Radhika Kamran, who graciously agreed to be interviewed on her take of how Bollywood movies create unrealistic expectations on our outlook of life.

Reflection

When I initially decided on my topic, I reached out to an influencer that I wanted to interview. It was definitely a gamble and I wasn’t counting on getting a response, so I wasn’t too disappointed when I didn’t hear back within that week. As much as I am bummed that she didn’t respond, I value that I put myself out there and took that gamble to reach out to her. She would have been perfect to interview, but I’m glad I interviewed my sister instead. Additionally, I gained a lot of respect for all those podcast editors out there. It took what felt like an eternity to edit my podcast and it felt so tedious listening to the same words over and over again. The editing process taught me a lot of patience goes into getting an amazing outcome. Overall, I really enjoyed this unit and I could see myself continuing podcasting in the future.
