Blog Post #48 – Current Events

ISO 100/ f/30

These two photos are one of the only ones we got of the annual tulip picking National Womens Day celebration. After messing with the settings, Mahaut and I asked a woman to take a photo of us waiting in line. She, along with everyone else had brought an umbrella to keep themselves dry while waiting in line (during a storm); we, had not. When we finally got to the tulip picking three hours later, it was beautiful. It rained during my documentation of the National Womens Day celebration (a current event).

Blog Post #45 – Musical

This weekend I went on a small hike up a lusciously green hillside to a picnic with a beautiful man. We listened to music and talked until the cold air forced us out. The trees swayed and leaves danced harmoniously with us. A wonderful day to be alive.

Blog Post #39 – The Elements

The elements: earth, fire, rain, wind, and spirit. I am personally most intrigued by fire. Specifically the fact that it has no shadow, making it a ghoastlike element. Flames are weightless and lifeless things, yet can cause you excruciating pain in a matter of seconds.

Photo Blog #36 – Gratitude

This is my dad, Dave. Dave is an absolute cutie pie and this is my favorite picture of him ive ever taken. I have so much love and respect for this man because I know how hard he’s worked to provide for me and my sisters.

Blog Post #33 – Who Inspires Me?

This is Maya. She is the definition of love and light. She never fails to make those around her feel safe. Talking to Maya is like reciving a warm hug on a rainy day. She is strong and powerful. She is one of the strongest human beings I know. She keeps so much to herself while providing for everyone else. Their needs come before her own and she isn’t content until they are. This sixteen year old embodies everything I hope to be.

Blog Post #27 – Exit

Exit Sign

Exit signs aren’t the most intriguing of all signs, but they are important. There was a recent mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas that left 21 people dead. These were elementary schoolers; little kids. These kids had no idea that they might need to know where an exit is, let alone every exit. I sometimes wonder if children were taught the importance of knowing the exits near them, more children would have survived that day. I cannot express the importance of knowing where your nearest exits are at all times.
