Documentary

As a Design student, my assignment for the documentary project was a book, written and designed completely by me, titled, “Your Trash, My Treasure.”

INTERVIEWS

The book was about Millie Kopp, and her life as a sustainable fashion influencer. I interviewed her and then created a transcript on ProTools featuring her interview. This was a vital step in the writing process.

WRITING

I then wrote a seven page essay for English, which was then converted into book form. I took snippets from the interview transcript in order to complete the documentary. I had a difficult time getting started on the essay, and subsequently I had to rush in order to meet the hard deadline.

INDESIGN

We mainly used InDesign to compose our books . Te program did propose many issues regarding logistics in the images and writing, however once they were surpassed, it was smooth sailing. The biggest issue I came across was the timeline from beginning designing, up to when it was due, was very short. I had to manage my time well in order to make the deadline.

ILLUSTRATOR

I created all of my graphic design elements in Adobe Illustrator and then converted then to PNG’s in order to transfer them into my book. I created four designs, each repeating multiple times throughout the book to create unity.
