Animation Projects

In my elective class, Animation, we practiced using the applications Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter until finally completing a final project of a character and weapon of our choice. We first got familiar with Maya where we built models using basic geometrical shapes. We then shifted to Zbrush, an application that gave us more freedom to add details to our Maya models. Finally, we added color and texture using Adobe Substance Painter.

Basic character design in Maya.
Greek temple in Maya.
Fire hydrant variations in Maya.
Skull sculpting from a sphere in Zbrush.
Character head created in Zbrush.
Weapon model created in Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter.
Character bio.
Character doing tai-chi.
Walking, running, and jumping.

This year, we focused entirely on 3D modeling in Animation. The concept seemed so complex and foreign to me at first. I value the opportunity to work with such great applications and resources and receiving help from my teacher to execute all of my ideas. I felt proud of each piece I completed and felt like I learned a lot this unit.
