For digital media, we got to explore a lot of new techniques using Photoshop and other Adobe programs.
Photoshop Surreal Composition
For this assignment, we had to use the techniques we learned in photoshop to make our own surreal composition. I am a huge fan of all surrealism but, I am particularly interested in the aesthetic of 1950s retro-futurism.
Artist Statement
I have loved the look of retro-futurism for a while now, so I felt that this was the perfect opportunity to try to mimic the aesthetic. I took most inspiration from the retro-futuristic art in the 1950s, old episodes of The Twilight Zone, and the dreamlike pieces of work from @moon_patrol on Instagram. When stitching together different photos, I had to adjust the brightness and quality of all the photos so the whole piece looked cohesive. I feel that this is my most successful Photoshop job to date.
