This week, we were challenged to tell the story of our friends or families through a photo. This is a photo of my friends when we watched the sunrise together. Since we were unable to have a school-organized “senior sunrise” we decided to have our own. Not only is this showing the story of how we all decided to wake up at 6 AM to watch the sunrise, it tells the story of our high school friendship.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo using negative space. I took this photo of the awning in front of the Digital Media room. The negative space created by the sky above helps to contrast the awning that provides shade for those who sit on the couches outside. You can even see that there’s something on the awning.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo using shadow to tell a story. I took this photo of a shadow that was cast on the wall in my room. I still don’t know what was actually casting this shadow, but it looks like a hill. It tells the story of an upward climb to the light, which is the end goal.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo inspired by the word “anonymous.” I took a photo of this hardcover book that had no writing on its cover. This book could be about anything: dogs, cookies, hockey – who knows. That’s why it’s anonymous.
This week, we were challenged to take a center frame portrait that portrayed loneliness. I took a photo of this small, cut shrub. It’s cut to be very short and stands alone with no other planets near it. It sure is a lonely shrub.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo that tells the story of a new beginning, as it’s the first photo blog of 2020. I took a photo of the sunset at the beach. Even though the sunset represents the end of a day, it also means that a new day will soon follow; and a new day is a new beginning.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo inspired by trash. I took a photo of this eggshell that is in my compost bin because it is actual food trash. The entire compost bin is composed of food scraps and trash, but it’s all able to come together to make compost.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo showing balance, but specifically in the “Accidental Renaissance” style. I took a picture of my cat as he was sticking his paw out the door. He really wanted to go outside but clearly couldn’t fit through such a small opening. He could only sadly stick his paw out.
