Protools Instrument Practice

Full sequencer from Protools, this allows you to see what tracks are being played and when. These tracks can be recorded or created, through mics and external instruments, or in MIDI softwares, like some examples below…
“Boom” drum machine for use in Protools, used to (aptly) program different drums into a piece of music.
“Mini Grand” MIDI instrument for use in Protools, for producing piano tracks and tweaking different aspects of that.

Reason EDM 8-bar Song

This is the basic song that I made in Reason, which is my favored one of the two audio softwares we have been learning. For this, I started by filling out some basic chords, and then wanted to keep it relatively simple- though the style lends itself better to a slower tempo.
This is an image of the sequencer from Reason, and as you can see, there aren’t too many tracks here…
Here is a look into the other two main interfaces of Reason- On the left is the rack, which allows you to add/take inventory of different instruments, and on the right is the mixer, which lets you tweak the volume or effects on different instrument outputs. To play the instruments, I used a short electric keyboard on my desk.
This is a compilation of some of the 8 bar pieces from our class, in one longer production- by having all of the songs made in one tempo and one key, they tend to sound relatively good with each other despite people composing them independently.
