Pizza John fan art

I made some fan art for pizzamas inspired by a comment someone made while I was wearing a pizza john shirt. I sent this art along to Hank and John Green’s dubious advice podcast so there is a small chance it will be mentioned on an upcoming episode. Here are the three phases this art took:

This is the original sketch I made in my notebook
This is the illustrator version of the art
This is the final shaded version I polished in Photoshop

Emily Carr portfolio work

I’m applying to Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver Canada. Even though I’m planning to major in film, the first-year portfolio asks for a variety of different pieces in different mediums. The following are images I made for that portfolio.

In one original image or 20-second media clip, answer the question: How is creativity important for both the individual and the community?

I made this painting in photoshop using pastel brush tools

In three original images, tell us a story about yourself.

I took these three photos while climbing half dome which is the story they represent

Using three different materials, build a model of what you would put in the centre of a public space.

I made this model using clay, popsicle sticks, and cardboard.

Summer 2020 projects

During the summer of 2020, I didn’t have a lot to do so I tried to improve my drawing skills and knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator. Here are some of my small projects:

I used image trace to make this profile image for my Bandcamp account
I drew this character in Illustrator then added brush effects in Photoshop. I plan to use this character in an animated loop with music.
I also used this character to make some album art for a song I haven’t finished yet.

One-page flyer

In Digital Media class we got to make a flyer for an event of our choice, real or fictional. I, therefore, felt it necessary to make an advertisement for Mr. Florendo’s historic global Tai Chi event. Mr. Florendo is our Digital Media teacher at Freestyle.
