32. Fill the Frame

Pathway

The assignment for the week was to fill the frame with a single color, but I took a little bit of creative liberty with that prompt, and sort of discounted the presence and significance of neutral tones like grey and brown. This photo depicts a pathway at one of my favorite hiking trails. I’ve always been dazzled by the way trees are able to capture light, so I wanted to show that here.

Lining this shot up just right was tricky, but I think I did a good job. More importantly, however, the entire frame is indeed filled, as per the prompt. Trees and their many leaves make for great sources of visual noise and saturation, as do piled up leaves on the ground. I’m also glad that the high exposure masks the blue of the sky and makes it appear white.
