Contentment and Obscurity
This was taken at a beach, in hopes of capturing the enormity of land, sea and sky. The original intent was to capture how terribly huge the world truly is, through a convergence of all its elements, but there were two lone beach-goers walking across. It turned out to be a fortuitous twist of circumstance, because they provided a great source of scale and amplified the intended effect, as well as providing a definitive subject and visual interest.
I like to think that those two walking were completely unaware of my photographing them, blissfully engulfed in their own world. They definitely look at peace with themselves and those around them, bathing in sunlight and benevolent anonymity. I will never know who was in this photograph, and I am as comfortable with that fact as they probably would be.
