Spooky, Wooky, Kooky Time explains experiences, both big and small, how they shape us as individuals, and how it leads to self-growth. Josh, Darya, and Emma share stories of their own personal growth during perilous times.

About The Creators

Josh Gefken: Josh is currently a senior at Freestyle and MVHS. When not in school most of his free time is taken up by acting and participating in the performing arts. Most recently, he got the opportunity to direct a play titled Trap. In May, he will return to direct with the musical Little Shop of Horrors. In the first episode of Spooky, Wooky, Kooky Time he shares a story of his job at Peninsula Youth Theater. In this story, he recalls his experiences while working with kids in the theater. 

Introduction

We are doing the Podcast Project to explore a powerful communication medium that is in ever-increasing demand. We are also learning more about topics that we research. My main goal was to try something new and to have fun while doing so. Our podcast is available on the Freestyle SoundCloud page and Spotify. 

Our biggest inspiration was by comedian and YouTuber Chris Klemens. His podcast is titled Unhinged with Chris Klemens. His podcast is a roller coaster of emotions as he explores his home, Los Angeles.

Reflection

This project let me learn more about others’ experiences and how they overcame the challenges that they brought them. I really enjoyed making the podcast and Emma, Darya, and I might make more episodes. A huge challenge for the group was completing the finale podcast. We all have a bunch going on so it was hard to find a time to record for it. The advice I would give first-time podcasters is to jump headfirst into recording an episode. It’s a lot of fun and, who knows; you might have a hit on your hands.
