“The purpose of the Senior Zenith Project is to ignite your passion and elevate your skills and experiences to create your ultimate and most successful Freestyle project.”

For this project, the idea came from Hannah, who is my partner. She knew that I was directing the musical Little Shop of Horrors and suggested that we create a documentary about the process as a whole. We researched the different types of documentaries as well as the history of Little Shop of Horrors. I decided to work with Hannah Kitaumra for the actual Documentary. I am working with many people who hold different positions to help bring my vision to life for the show itself. I chose to work with Hannah because we both agreed that working with another person would help lower stress and get more things done quickly and efficiently. I think it was very successful because we have similar mindsets and work well together. The 21st Century Skill that I improved upon the most is visual literacy. I think I improved the most with this skill because I found new ways to combine the two parts of my life. Theater and film through making a very visual documentary. I learned a lot about time management. I know that seems like an easy way to answer the question but I think it’s something that I grew a lot in. I was balancing being the director and having to lead 15 people to success but also filming the entire process and editing and conducting interviews.

In the future, I hope to continue directing and I think what I learned through this process will help me be more on top of urgent things that need to be done in order for the show to be a success. I am really happy with how our zenith project turned out. We got what we wanted to be done, and I think it gives the viewer insight into how community theater works. That begging said, Both Hannah and I are getting to the point where we just want to be done with school, so trying to motivate ourselves to finish has been difficult. But, I am glad that we did, and I am excited for people to see both the documentary and the final show. If I could do this project again I would start everything way earlier instead of doing the majority of it a few weeks before. I think having more time we could have perfected it even more. We would love for you to come to see the show running from May 20-22 at the Mountain View Performing Arts Center.
