I was so excited to explore music production when this assignment was introduced. I spend a lot of time around music and most of my friends are musicians so I jumped at the opportunity to work with my friend Monica with some of her original songs.
Lose the Words: Composed and Performed by Monica Enloe

“Monica Enloe is a singer/songwriter from the Bay Area with a love for music and guitar. Her music is inspired by classic and contemporary folk styles, as well as the artistry of countless musicians. She aims to foster connections through her lyricism as she writes about nature, acceptance, and personal connections, over melancholic acoustic melodies.”

When we initially recorded this project, Monica felt like the primary colour of the song is purple. I played around a lot with that in this album art distorting the title and making a visually appealing and keeping with the themes of the song.
I wanted to make sure I fully encapsulated the sad nostalgic style of the song while staying true to Monica’s original vocals.
I had an absolute blast with this assignment and got to explore pro-tools and music production as a whole so much more. I will be using this track in my Music Video/Short film Zenith project in this coming quarter.
