Film
Write, Shoot, Edit
Everything about this project came with surprises. My group shot this project as the second step of the “Write, Shoot, Edit” project. We immediately faced challenges working on this project because we didn’t have much to go off of, very little memory, and no shot list. There’s a lot that was fun about this though. It was fun and rewarding to attempt a project like this on such short notice, and we ended up working well as a team of 2 second year seniors and 2 first years.
5.1 Surround Sound
I have to say this lesson is one of my favourites so far. I found learning the basics of surround sound to be very helpful and it is now an easily accessible tool I can implement in my future films.

Mandalas
This is a video of the mandala drawing process. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to use illustrator and just trying out new pens strokes to tell my story. I also found the setting up the template the most challenging as I kept forgetting which layers to keep locked, and which layers I was to be working on. After I had that all sorted, I had a great time listening to music and doodling as a way of passing class time.
I think this assignment has been one of my favourite collaborations between English and Digital Media. I am forever grateful for our yearly trip to SF MOMA for the exposure to great art we get to immerse ourselves in. I wrote about a piece that included music and humanity and it was really easy to create something out of it for this assignment.
