Zenith

Zenith: “the time at which something is most powerful or successful.” For me, this meant an opportunity at creating my most polished work to date. This meant taking risks in technical production, as well as wanting to make something my friend could hold onto for her own media usage and sharing.

For my Zenith, I wanted to create something that I had never attempted before, while growing my strengths and challenging what I knew about organisation and seeing the “producer” end of a project through. Inspired by album & song based albums “Five Seconds Flat” by Lizzy McAlpine and Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well, the Short Film”, I set out to create a narrative video to match the song I produced for my music production project in Digital Media.

We had a ton of fun shooting this project. Something I wanted to try out to enhance the final video, was shooting on a VHS recorder. We could very easily slap a nostalgia filter on it, but I wanted to authentically create the feel of detached longing that comes with the footage we got. Additionally, learning how to get the VCR to work through it’s many steps with Mr. Taylor has been one of the most unique creative experiences I’ve had to date.

Please enjoy!
