Reflections

In the first unit of the year, we focused on the question “Who am I?” in all of our classes. We wrote a 650-word personal essay in English, which pushed everyone to think about their past, but also their future. As part of the brainstorming for this essay, we each generated a list of 20 objects that resemble us in some way. My list was: puzzles, a road bike, stuffed animals, LEGOs, spikes, my watch, headphones, RipStik, Hydroflask, PC, dog, lint roller, a calendar, my Christmas stocking, Calvin and Hobbes canvas, colored pencils, slingshot, tennis ball, pencil, and a binder. In Digital Media, we worked on a mandala as well as other various Photoshop projects. In Design, we created a PSA based on the brainstorming from the English essay, and we also created Aboriginal art.

This unit taught me a lot about myself, but it also helped me remember things I had forgotten. Because I was constantly in the mindset of “reflecting”, I often found myself digging deep to uncover old memories.
