Character Puppet
For this project, we had to create a character to turn into a puppet to make a stop motion walk cycle with. Ive been doodling cat heads a lot so I decided to go with a cat for my character. For making the character, I used my previous knowledge of felting because I felt more comfortable with using the material. I knew that felting the puppet would be light weight and flexible enough for me to add all the details and create all the poses I wanted. For the parts that needed more material such as the stomach, I used pillow stuffing as a replacement for felt because I didn’t have enough of the color I needed to do all of that.

2D Walk Cycle
Along with doing a stop motion walk cycle with the puppet, we also had to create a 2d walk cycle. We had the choice to either make the digital walk cycle of the same character we made for the puppet, or create a new character. I chose to create a new character that is based on my dog Tucker.
Lip Sync
The lip sync project is one of the animations that I’m most proud of. For this project, we had to pick an audio and create a character lip sync to go along with it. I knew that for this project I wanted to create something that looked like a game. After deeply searching through for audios on Youtube, I was starting to feel defeated and my time was running out on the project. This is when I thought: If I can’t find an audio I’m looking for I’ll just make one myself, and that I did. I already had a vision for everything I wanted visually for my animation, but now I had to come up with a script. I couldn’t come up with anything so I asked my sister to come up with something for me. Now I just needed to voice it. But I didn’t want to have to hear my own voice so I used one of the voice filters on TikTok so I didn’t have to ask anyone to voice it for me but also not have it sound anything like me. For My lip sync, I wanted it to be like a story instead of a still character with the mouth moving. So I created a pov of opening a tab to type in the game name where you meet the character and the character talks to you. For the actual lip sync part, I drew out the basic mouth shapes and put those on my character to align with the words being spoken. While I did this, I mouthed the words myself to make sure everything felt right.

Animation Narrative: Conspira-SEA
Instead of working in a group of three like the rest of the groups, I worked in a pair with my friend Miya. We created 3 storyboards for the 3 scenes we planned to have; first one at his house, second one at the convince store, and the third in the dark room. Unfortunately with the amount of people and time we had, we weren’t able to animate our narrative with the full vision but I know thatI’m at least proud with the work I was able to accomplish.

Character design Miya came up with
With help, we came up with the idea to create a story about a young adult (whose body is that of a human and head of a goldfish) who is an overworked college student/ photographer. After a long day of going throughout the city taking pictures, he decides to go to a local convenience store for a snack. But he notices a strange void behind the bag of chips he grabbed. Curious, he takes a picture of the void and later develops it in the dark when something strange happens…
