Multi-Layered Art
For the Multi-Layered Art Project, we were told to create a piece of multi-layered art of either stacked wood, stacked rings, or a lightbox with the subject of the art being based on an aspect of our world-building story. I thought this project was really cool because we got to visually see our worlds come to life, or at least an aspect of it. I chose to create a lightbox and personally, I was interested in making my art based on my world-building through interpretation and creating something that it’s not while having of hidden meaning in the art.
Process
For this project, we were supposed to make multi-layered art based on our world-building project for English. My group’s world-building story was centered around a world driven by technology. I chose to have my multi-layered art feature a bog filled with plants and wildlife because that is what the opposite of the world we created was like. I wanted to have a lot of roots and vines included to relate back to the tech aspect of the story since they remind me of the wires in tech devices. A struggle I encountered while creating this was when it was being cut out by the laser since some of my details were too small so they would break off; this was fixed after a few adjustments. I overall really like how this project came out because it also reflects my own creativity and personality and I’m really proud of the details
