As an aspiring screenwriter/novelist, this year with all it’s narrative writing has been extremely exciting for me. I especially loved how collaborative this unit was. It feels different. The concepts you toyed with in your head feel so much more real when you share them with people. And then they continue to become tangible as you write, shoot, or edit them. Learning how to work with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator has given me the ability to visualize the things that previously amounted to nothing but thoughts. And with those tools, I wrote essays and screenplays, drew concept art, edited films, and created visually striking animations. I’m grateful for this unit an all it’s contributions to my growth as a story teller.
