The grid abiding by the rule of thirds in this photo is created by the dark exterior, the half open door, and finally the small glimpse into the room. The high contrast environment made for a good photo and opportunity to show emotion with this and the rule of thirds; I wanted to give a somewhat uncanny feeling, as if you’re opening the door, unsure of what you’ll find inside, or as if someone’s left the room and kept the door open.
