Center Frame Portrait

50mm, ISO 1600, f1.8, 1/16

This month, my life has largely revolved around the arrival of two new kittens into my family. I spent the entirety of January giddily taking photos of them at any given opportunity, and couldn’t resist making them the subject of both of my photo blogs for this month. For this prompt, a center-framed portrait that evokes feelings of loneliness, I felt that this photo was a perfect fit. Though our cats will never be lonely, this photo still evokes the feeling due to its isolating composition. As one of my kittens, Lola, peeks her head above a dark frame of backpacks, her innocent curiosity yet visual solitude paints a unique tone for this photograph.
