A family tradition that I have treasured since early childhood is the baking and decorating of holiday cookies. For the past few years, we haven’t had enough time to dedicate to Halloween cookies (or Christmas cookies, for that matter), but I made a special effort this year to make it happen. I prepared the dough and baked the cookies, and then my mom and I spent time together decorating them with icing and sprinkles, just like when I was a kid.
