Photoblog#34~ Color Without Color
During the Freestyle field trip to the SFMOMA, I fell in love with this colorful exhibit hung over the ground floor of the museum. It was a bridge with extremely colorful glass around the sides. I loved the color and the positioning of this piece. To change this photo to black and white, I imported it into Photoshop and changed the color settings. I love the way it turned out but I do love the colored image more!
Photoblog#33~ Who inspires you
I thought a lot about this prompt. There are a lot of people who inspire me, but my friends by far have inspired me the most. They are outgoing, open minded, and kind. I look up to all of my friends because they all have very inspirational characteristics. In this photo, I waned to get a silhouette of my friends talking on my bed. I wanted the foreground to be dark and the background to be lighter.
Photoblog#32~ Fill the frame
For this photo, I wanted to take a picture with one of my mothers old bridesmaid dress. To do this I took a self portrait through a window in my bedroom. I wanted to give the photo an old/vintage feel to it. While editing, I lowered the exposure and added offset to help portray the vintage feeling. I also cut and selected myself and changed the opacity to make me look like a ghost.
Photoblog #31 ~ Friends and Family
I pride myself on my friends and family. My friends and family are some of the most amazing and influential people i know. So for this photoblog, I wanted to highlight the new friends I was able to make at freestyle and how happy I am because of it. I am so thankful to be surrounded by likeminded people in a safe and artistic environment.
Photoblog#30~Your habits
For this prompt I wanted to highlight one of my more positive habits instead of focusing on the negative ones. This habit is driving around, weather its with friends or by myself. When I feel stressed, overwhelmed, or i just want to get away for a bit Ill go on a drive. Not only does this help be connect with my friends and myself more, but im also able to explore and find new areas. Driving is one of my favorite things to do, its a great habit.
Photoblog#28~ Your Culture
To represent my culture I took a picture of cold beet soup, also known as, augsta supa or biesu supa ar kefiru. My mothers side of the family is Latvian and one way we connect with each other, as well as our culture, is food. Ever since I was a kid I remember making Latvian recipes at family get togethers and holidays. Cold beet soup specifically has a special place in my heart. When my family and I visited Latvia a couple summers ago, my great aunt make a full spread of Latvian dishes. This is when I fell in love with cold beet soup. To take this picture I used the following settings: 800 ISO, 5.6 aperture, and 1/100 shutter speed.
Photoblog#27~Exit
This photo is of my coworker opening the front door. Working at Baskin Robbins is my first real job. I chose this photo to represent exit because even when I leave for college, I will always remember the skills this job has taught me. This job has opening a door to adulthood to me. Even when I leave, I will remember this job and my amazing coworkers.
Photoblog#26~Geometry
This photo demonstrates a lot of geometry in architecture. This house was designed by Joseph Eichler. His architecture style was considered as “California Modern.” He added a lot of glass walls and open floor plans. All of these geometric shapes help give this house a more modern look. The the windows and the walls draw your eye to the center of the photo, the door.
Photoblog#25~Freedom
To me, freedom was getting my license. Being able to have the freedom of driving where ever I wanted whenever I wanted made me extremely happy. Something I love to do with this freedom is to go to lookout point. To me, driving is like taking a break from reality. I am now able to drive to these beautiful places that I never really could before. This photo is a photo from foothill park, one of my favorite places to go.
Photoblog#24~Tell a Lie
This photo follows the rule of thirds and has appealing lighting. However something is off about the photo. The top is floating. This is thanks to the help of photoshop editing. This photo is telling a lie because of the floating pieces of the product. I wanted this product to loo very interesting and appealing. I also wanted the photo to produce a feeling of warmth by adding a warm light. This photo is also a sneak peak into my explorations project.
