While I was at a viewpoint looking at a harbor, I looked down and saw this small opening in the trees that perfectly showcases people going about their day. I liked the perspective of people going about their lives and doing their own thing and just observing it from far away. I also loved how small they looked compared to their surrounding which made me aware of just how large the world is outside of me,

It was rainy after school evening. The sky was a deep blue almost black. Walking out to the garden I picked a fresh Meyer lemon to help my mom make an amazing lemon pasta dish. Even though it was cold and rainy outside, the inside was warm and welcoming just as its always been. I took this picture to showcase the contrast between my warm and light house to the cold and rainy weather that has been raging over the past week.

Currently I am unemployed but something I love working on is creating delicious food and dishes that I can share with my friends and family. Making food like this gives me the chance to learn about different places and cultures and helps me connect to others on another level. Working to create food like this in my free time gives me the opportunity to learn and connect.

While waiting to go to the beach, I took this picture of my friend Lucy. With the sunlight in the background it gave the picture a warm glow to it. To help enhance this tone and color, I used the color balance tool to make the photo even warmer using tints of yellow and red. By adding the tint, I create a happy and warm tone to the photo.

This New Years I made a resolution to get out with my friends more and enjoy each others company before we go to college. I chose this photo because it is from my first trip of this year. My friends and I drove up to Orange County and spent the weekend at the beach. For this photo, I lowered the shutter speed and raised the ISO to get that blur affect in the car.

Water is one of the most powerful elements out there. It can be beautiful yet dangerous. I took this when I went up to Santa Cruz for the day to watch the sunset. I loved watching how the water could go from calm to crashing in just a second.

Over a weekend, my friends and I went up to my friend’s apartment in San Francisco. I love how different all of the architecture is in the city. My friend’s apartment though was breathtaking. I have always been a big fan of bay windows so when I saw this bay window in the morning light it was beautiful. I love the odd number of windows and how when you get close enough it seems as though you are surrounded by the windows.

For this prompt, I wanted to use two different photos of the same place to compare the differences because of the changing seasons. I love how different seasons can change the feel of places. One of my favorite thing about seasons is the change in color. I love how leaves change from green to red to brown. It’s one of my favorite things in the world.

One thing I am grateful for is Christmas and the holiday season. During this time I’m able to get a break from school and visit my friends and family who I haven’t seen in a while. I’m so grateful that during this time I’m able to reconnect with my loved ones and get a chance to connect with myself as well. In this photo, I included a picture of my Christmas tree that my family and I cut down this year. In the foreground of the photo is my cat. I included him because I am also very grateful to have him in my life.

For this prompt I wanted to take emotion more literal. I put on makeup and created it to look as though I was crying. I also used the rule of thirds by intentionally off centering my eye. This photo was inspired by a piece of art that also inspired my illustrative design hoodie. The art piece was the Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel.
